Comedor Run Club is a food + beverage running group with a mission to “shift the post-shift” culture. We invite you to join us for a few miles, share some high-fives and encouragement, and discover a community focused on well-being of self and each other.

What does it mean to “shift the post-shift” culture"?

- In the food + beverage (f + b) industry, we work in shifts. We have pre-shift meetings to get on the same page before service. And we commiserate after the long hours of service with post-shift hangouts. Those post-shift activities are a way that many in the industry make friends, feel connected, understood, and decompress. It can be the thing that brings them back to work the next day to continue in a demanding industry. It can also create a lifestyle of late nights, hangovers, dehydration, unhealthy eating habits, and sometimes leads to addiction. We offer an alternative lifestyle and community that supports the health and wellness of individuals.

Why is an alternative lifestyle needed in the service community?

- Because we’re dying, we’re unhealthy, we’re addicted, we’re stressed. We’re burning out, and it hurts. We show up every day to provide nourishment, entertainment, and inspiration for our guests. That give takes a lot of energy, and we respond by finding outlets to refuel. The embedded culture of late nights out is a temporary relief that creates more anxiety and stress in the long term. We create a healthier way to connect and build camaraderie that doesn’t cause harm to ourselves or each other.

Meet our friends.
